Minutes - 4th October, 2005
October the 4th the regularly scheduled meeting
of the SVARC was held at the club house. We had 11 members and
3 guests present.
The 50/50 drawing was won by leroy Grifiths, one
of our guests and he returned his winnings to the club. Total
on the 5/50 was $9.00.
Repeater status: 82 up and working , an additional
filter is to be installed on the receive side to help with the
pager interference. 18 and 27 working ok.
AB3AX reported that there were 5 members turned
out for the Milton Tomato Festival and their job was completed
by about 9 AM. Gordon is still trying to work out a schedule with
K3ARR for a Foxhunt in November. The Christmas Party is coming
up in December at the Ric-Mar Restaurant on RT 11 north of Northumberland.

John K3MD will need some help putting together a
new beam antenna sometime around the 12th or 13th. This project
is just putting all the nuts and bolts and tubing together on
the ground, an antenna crew is coming to put it up on the tower.
N3JIW reprted on the new heater for the club house.
This one is rated at 30,000BTU as he measured the clubhouse and
glass area and checked the guidelines before purchasing it. It
will be installed sometime before the next meeting.
KE3BP suggest we have a work session Thursday evening
to install the new operating bench we got from Snyder County also
use the time to show necomers how to operate the club radios.
Another work day is the following Tuesday the 11th. at 5PM.
Technician Class will be held the 12th (Wed) 15th
& 16th at the Careerlink building A VE session will be held
on Sunday. contact Roger N3CVQ for details.
Coming up in November starting on the 5th will be
a Level I Emergency communications class that will continue on
the 12th, 19th and 22nd.
