Minutes - 7th September, 2004
On September 7th, the regularly scheduled meeting
of the SVARC was held at the clubhouse. 13 members were present.
A salute to Tom N3LEP was given in honor of his
90th birthday coming up on the 17th of the month.
Rachael Mae, KB3FWC, and Shannon, W3SML, introduced
their newest harmonic, Violetta. Congratulations to the proud
parents.
WB3HML gave the treasurers report.
18 repeater report: 2 antennas have been removed
from the water towers but work on the other tower was blocked
by a hornets best. Feedline was run for the digi-link on the 2nd
work weekend.
82 report: the tower contractor backed out of the
deal so no work has been done so we will have to run the feedline
ourselves. The antennas may be installed by the contractor at
a later date.
27 report: K3ARR has installed a new filter to
help block the FM broadcast interference.
Milton Tomato Festival: we will be meeting at the
Macdonald's in Milton at 5:30AM on Saturday the 11th and Saturday
the 18th to help with vendor setup from 6AM until about 9AM. WE
Will be operating on 146.565 simplex.
NG3F: A VE session is scheduled on Sunday the 19th
at the Careerlink building in Selinsgrove at 2PM.
WB3HML: the 50/50 drawing was won by Bob WY3M.
WB3HML reported on the accumulated donation for
the ARRL Fund to battle the BPL regulations, and that a check
would be sent to the ARRL as agreed. A discussion was held concerning
further participation in this fund and a vote was taken to not
participate further as a club, members are still encouraged to
contribute on their own to this project.
K3SI revealed that an investigation of the FCC
files shows, while our club call is duly registered with them,
he never got the new Universal Licensing procedure carried out
for the club call. A vote was taken to authorize a payment to
the FCC with the upcoming change in the club call sign trustee
to WY3M.
N3CVQ - Roger brought up the need for a club brochure
to be available for the people at Welcome Wagon and the tourist
information center in Lewisburg to give out to newcomers to our
area. AB3AX volunteered to assist.
A discussion was held concerning the Sunday night
net and Tom,N3LEP agreed to take over as net manager. Tom will
publish a new set of net procedures in the near future.
N3XJY:Donna has scheduled the Christmas dinner
for December the 18th, please let her know as soon as possible
if you plan to attend, It will be held at the Ric-Mar Restaurant
on RT. 11 at 6pm.
