RETURN TO INDEX OF MEETINGS
Minutes - 2nd March, 2004

On March 2nd the regularly scheduled meeting of the SVARC was held at the Clubhouse. We had 18 members present.

K3ARR reported that the 27 repeater was working but the antenna and feedline need to be checked out when warm weather arrives.

W3JJL/NR3U have discussed the possibility of changing the antenna on 82 this summer to the old 18 antenna with the down tilt for better close coverage. Clem may experiment with the squelch settings on 82 and also the use of tone access to see how that affects the interference problems.

N3XJY reported there would be a Fox Hunt on Saturday the 13th at the clubhouse.

W3JJL brought up a motion to offer a one-year membership to individuals that go through our training program and pass their license test. The motion passed.

NG3F reported on the recent training program using the ARRL videos on a 3 day intense training program. We had 7 people in the class and 2 passed the tech exam.

WB3HML reported on the 50-50 drawing that took in $14.00 and was won by Lynn, who returned her winnings to the club.

WY3M reported on the Lewisburg Art Festival that will be held on Saturday the 24th of April. Our roll in this effort is defined as safety and everyone's help is needed to make this a successful fundraiser for the club.

Mail-W3JJL-Eric our SCM has a CD available for his visit to ARRL HQ and containing interviews with many of the staff people there.

A note from Mike N3IRN that he is in need of some copies of "Now your Talking" for a training program. Mike can usually be found on one of the Bloomsburg repeaters if you can help him.

N3JIW reported he had heard from Clem NR3U that the airport will be having a "Fly-in " for their open house when the new building is finished and would like our help. What sort of help they have in mind is yet to be determined.

KB3KLQ offered the club an old Hammerlund SP-600 receiver to repair as a club project but it was determined the condition of the radio was beyond our help and the offer was turned down.

N3CVQ reported there will be an Ethnic Fair in Selinsgrove the weekend of Labor Day and they expect huge crowds. Members might want to avoid that area if you are traveling that weekend.

The April meeting will be at Hoss's Restaurant at 6pm for our annual Skywarn Program.
