Club By-Laws

The President shall serve
no more than two (2) consecutive terms. After two consecutive
terms the President shall not hold that office for a minimum of
one (1) year from the expiration of his/her last term as President.
It shall be the duty of the Secretary
to keep the constitution and by-laws of the Club and have the
same with him at every meeting. He shall cause all amendments,
changes and additions to be noted thereon and shall permit the
same to be consulted by members upon request.
Membership is open to all licensed
amateurs and those possessing an active interest in amateur radio.
Only those members possessing a valid amateur license regardless
of class, shall be eligible to hold club office. Applications
for membership shall be submitted at business meetings.
Applications for new membership
in the SVARC shall be accepted from anyone who has not been a
member within the past twelve months. Applications shall be submitted
to the Board of Directors in writing on a form approved by the
Board of Directors. Applications must be accompanied by the appropriate
dues. The Board of Directors shall screen each application for
completeness and accuracy and shall submit all applications to
the general membership for approval. The Board of Directors may,
if they so desire, make a recommendation to the general membership
for or against the approval of any application.
Regular business meetings shall
be held the first (1st) Tuesday of each calendar month
at 7:30 p.m. local time, at such place as the president shall
order, with the club option to hold social meetings on the third
(3rd) Tuesday of each calendar month for the purpose of
furthering member knowledge of amateur radio.
Special meetings may be called by
the president upon written request of any five club members. Notices
shall be sent to members concerning special meetings and business
to be transacted. Only such business as designated shall be transacted.
Such notices shall be so that in the ordinary postal delivery
they arrive not less than 24 hours before the meeting time.
A minimum of five (5) members
and two (2) officers present at a club meeting shall constitute
a quorum.
Effective 11/4/03, Annual
Dues assessment for members shall be as follows:

Regular Members, $15.00 per
year

Military, College Students
and Senior Citizen members age 60 or older, $10.00 per year

School Students through their
senior year, $5.00 per year

Family membership shall be
equal to 1-regular membership, plus ½-regular membership for
each adult licensed amateur living in the same household
The dues are hereby assessed in
accordance with the provisions of Article V of the Constitution
for the purpose of providing funds for current expenses.
Associate members shall pay one-half
of the full membership dues.
If a person applies for a new membership
of any class in the SVARC at any time other than the beginning
of the dues year, his dues shall be prorated according to the
following schedule:
- January 1 to June 30 full years dues
- July 1 to September 30 Two-thirds of annual
dues
- October 1 to December 31 One-third of annual
dues
Dues prorating is not applicable
to membership renewals.
| 7 - Interference Committee |
The QRM committee shall be
appointed when deemed necessary. This committee shall direct investigations,
invite the proper members to inquiries, and organize the presentation
of technical facts and any other testimony within its province,
reporting to the club on its results.
| 8 - Miscellaneous Committees |
Miscellaneous committees may be
appointed as deemed necessary, by club vote.
